My 4 month old puppy was run over in our driveway (sleeping under car combined with an unaware driver) and apparently her femur ball joint(?) was broken in half.  They just finished a surgery where they removed this joint ball (I don’t know what it’s actually called) and she will be coming home tomorrow. They said she will be coming home with pain meds, anti-inflammatory meds, muscle relaxers, and antibiotics. I am confident that all of this could be replaced with herbs. I have the formulas for joint support, INFXN Bugbuster, and Immunity Support on hand.  I can get some comfrey or the bone, tissue and cartilage powder. But I am sure she will be coming home with all of these meds in her system and I am not confident enough to know how or when to switch her over. And maybe it’s not a safe idea for a while. Can anyone offer some help with this? I know not to treat her with herbs while she is on prescriptions from the vet. At this point, I’m thinking just using poultice on the incision and later using the joint support formula or the bone, tissue and cartilage powder after she is out of the initial recovery from the surgery.
