        Hi:

I’m new on the forum and had a question about the leftover pulp from a hot elderberry/astragalus/echinacea/ginger/clove/rose hips/cinnamon infusion.

Can the once used pulp then be tinctured (weak tincture?), since the alcohol will draw out different properties than the water?

Or is it only good for the chickens/compost pile at that point? Compost tea?

        Thank you in advance!

Nah. Make your tinctures with good stuff.

Throw the tea dreggs in the compost.

            Thank you.

I put it on the compost pile and the chickens promptly ate it! No colds for my hens 🙂

What to do with pulp? I have made a vinegar from pulp. Simply mix it with wine vinegar, pepper, cilantro and a little olive oil. I then spread this on bread making sandwiches or pour over the food or salad on my plate.

A site on the Internet suggested using the pulp as a base for making pet food.

I donate excess pulp to my friend who says his plants love it.
