Does anyone have an opinion or experience using ozonated water to clean herbs before use?  I noticed a ‘musty’ smell on some freshly picked lemon balm I was using for tea, so I soaked it while bubbling ozone through the water for about 5 minutes, which did remove the smell.  Any concerns about interactions?  I would think ozonated air on dry herbs would be oxidative, but it seems to me that applying it to fresh plant material may be beneficial to remove unwanted critters before processing.

I’d wonder if the ozone would also remove a lot of the essential oils.

Don't use herbs or combine herbs with medications or use them during lactation or pregnancy without talking with your healthcare provider.
