What are the most likely causes of vertigo?  Is there a simple way to rule out some of the causes?  My husband goes a long time with no vertigo issues and then has an ongoing series of it.  Are there foods or lack thereof that might bring it on or make it go away?  Are there herbs that would supply necessary nutrients?  I don’t know what body system this would come under.  Any direction would be greatly appreciated.

Vertigo can be caused by all sorts of things, inner ear, brain, vision, nutrition…

I had terrible, debilitating vertigo following my brain surgery. I felt like I was on a merry go round all the time. I spoke with three different brain surgeons about it and they all said “Yeah that happens. Sometimes it goes away after a few years.”

I went to Walmart and the optometrist said “You have almost imperceptible double vision and your eyes are constantly making micro adjustments trying to figure out where things really are. I’ll make you some glasses.”  When I got the glasses and put them on, I was instantly “cured” and haven’t had vertigo since.

So, there are two good lessons there. First, Walmart optometrists are sometimes smarter than brain surgeons. LOL

Second, Finding out what is the underlying problem makes it lots easier to find the solution. A good diagnosis is really valuable.

I’ve used a formula I developed called Inner Ear & Balance on vertigo cases and it’s sometimes is very effective…again, it depends what’s causing it. The formula recipe is in the Brain Nerve Mind & Mood Formulas lesson in the Formulas & Formulations section.

I’ve spoken with Sharik Peck and he said that the Rezzimax Tuner is also often effective at resolving vertigo.

Glad you had a smart optometrist!

Inner ear & balance tincture is not available right now.  Is there a powder option?  I have plenty of ginger root and some older chamomile flowers but do not have Ashwaganda root or gingko leaf.  Are there other herbs that could be substituted?  I have lots of different herbs that I can list if it would help.  The vertigo has faded mostly.  My husband seemed to have an infection below his ear that oozed into his throat when pressed on it.  Since then it has not been a major issue.  Does that tell you anything regarding the cause?

Most of the plants in that one are pretty specific. You can buy the simples and make your own if you like.
