StudentI recently watched one of Doc Jones’ videos about Artemisia Annua (sweet wormwood/sweet annie). He mentioned this being effective against corona viruses (as well pine needle extract, if I recall correctly). I tried doing a quick search, but didn’t find what I was looking for in the forum (however, I’m super new to the school, so maybe I missed something?). Is there any kind of spreadsheet or informational pdf that goes over what herbs are useful for different groups of viruses and bacteria?
I’m specifically hoping to find something that may be effective against Mpox Clade 1 (not Clade 2). In my search, per wikipedia: Orthopoxvirus is a genus of viruses in the family Poxviridae and subfamily Chordopoxvirinae. I’m not sure if any of that is useful? I hope I’m not coming across as a crazy person! I’d just like to be prepared and have a potential idea of how to help people, if possible.

StudentHi Eva!
I don’t believe I’ve seen a spreadsheet of what herbs are good against which virus or bacteria, but I did make a list of a lot of the herbs here in the school and their herbal actions.
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1nPjVl7knPXk816LDxJsh8sh7CXE_G9UWY8UtgSO16PM/edit?usp=sharingYou can make your own copy of this spreadsheet and then filter by antiviral or antibacterial, and then go into a deeper dive on each of the herbs that come up.
Hope that helps a bit!

StudentGreg – I must be Google docs challenged! I can’t figure out how to edit it – it says I have to have permission? Nice job on the spreadsheet – now just to figure out how to tweak it for my plants!

StudentNo problem! When you open up the doc, what you want to do is click on File –> Make a Copy. Then you will have your own copy of the Sheet to be able to edit however you like!

StudentGreg,
I decided to explore the forum, as I just started the school, and this was my first pick. So glad I came across this and that you were so kind to provide the spreadsheet and cards for all to use. I am positive this will help with my learning. Thank you again!

Dr. Patrick Jones
Homestead InstructorHi Eva,
I’ll do a lesson on herbs interactions with specific virus families.
Here are some herbs that research has shown to have some effects on Orthopoxviruses:
Astragalus, Echinacea, ginseng, licorice, garlic, sage, turmeric, milk thistle, ginkgo, ashwagandha
Don't use herbs or combine herbs with medications or use them during lactation or pregnancy without talking with your healthcare provider.
