What helps alleviate the pain associated with the sting from a Cow Killer / Red Velvet Ant? From what I’ve read, the wasp venom is not a toxin to humans but it is highly painful.

I have made the Venom & Sting formula in both tincture and powder forms and have in our field first aid go-bag. Looking for a complementary pain reliever to go with it.

What would be a recommended pain reliever herb / formula that would help with the intense pain & inflammation from one of these little buggers? Also any recommendations on what to keep on hand for allergic reactions?

We are up in East Tn Appalachia and it’s remote enough that I have a fairly large first aid kit in the truck at all times. We have many critters (large and small) nearby that can hurt us if we accidentally cross paths.

Right away I would use the Venom & Sting formula internally and topically. If that’s not on hand, plantain leaf could be used. Just chew up a fresh leaf and place it on the affected area and take that internally as well.

If something more is needed for pain I might use the Rest Easy formula tincture topically, or Hops tincture would be good to try as well.

Doc’s Histamine formula works great for allergies in general. Not recommended for anaphylactic shock; you might want to keep an EpiPen on hand for severe allergic reaction.
