StudentMy virusware says that this website has suspicious content and keeps blocking me when I try to download the PDF for the Terminology. I tried telling it not to block this site, but it still keeps stopping me from downloading the PDF. Is there something in the way the site is setup that keeps setting my virusware off? I pasted the notice I got here.

HomeGrown Forum Robot :)
ModeratorHey There!
Thanks so much for posting in the HGH School Bug Forum! We’ll try our hardest to get on this as soon as possible!
Before an Admin can reply to your post, you must make sure your bug report has the following Elements:
- Did you include a link to your bug? (required)
- Did you include info on the make/model of the device you’re using?
- (required) Did you specify which Web Browser you are using?
- (required) Did you provide a detailed description of the Bug? (required)
- Did you add any other relevant details? (Optional)
If you checked all those boxes with your post, you are good to go! Somebody will get back to you when it’s fixed, or if they need more info 🙂 If you forgot any of those items, no worries! Just reply back to this comment with anything you missed and you’ll be good to go! Thanks for reporting, you get extra brownie points today!

Important Note: If you are using the Brave Browser or one of the other “Privacy-Focus-Chrome-Reskin” Browsers (that are in my opinion borderline malware, running cryptocurrency garbage in the background, and are extremely resource intensive and run by for-profit corporations which somehow definitely don’t make money off your data…)
PLEASE reconsider.
These browsers block the core tech of websites that have user-based content and are not and will never be compatible by default. If you’re going to use it, you’ll need to learn, understand, and configure the settings for it on your own as that is outside the scope of our support.
If you are interested in a privacy based browsing experience, I recommend Firefox which is NOT built on the same tech controlled by google (that Brave and all the others are).
Thank You 🙂
HGH I.T.
Homestead InstructorHi there, after looking into this it seems that the Malwarebytes browser addon is by default flagging/blocking .ZIP package downloads entirely.
It’s a valid strategy on their part… if you consider amputating an arm a good solution for wanting to change the color of the pain on your fingernails.
As it stands right now, we don’t have any recourse for this…
.zip is the global standard and most Operating systems don’t support alternatives like .rar or .7z without installing and maintaining an additional software package… which isn’t a realistic expectation for us to shove onto our students.
You have a couple options for now:
-Disable Your Browser Addon
-Figure out how to whitelist our site in your Malwarebytes settings
– Use a different browser that does not have the Malwarebytes addon to download the PDF’sI’ve personally used Malwarebytes for many years and have been (until now) very happy with their service.
This new detection strategy is an absolute joke and will be causing tons of grief for developers all over the world.
Really Disappointing.

Homestead InstructorI’d guess that Malwarebytes reverts this change in the next couple of database updates due to pressure from legitimate developers. We’ll have to wait and see

Homestead Instructor*****UPDATE*****
I’ve finally gotten in contact with the Malwarebytes security team, and they have entirely whitelisted our domain on their service!!
Woohoo!
Still a bad strategy on their part, but we’re okay now!
Marking topic as resolved.
