I’ve recently purchased a Symphytum officinal “Alba” plant. In my readings I have found one reference stating that it is not the best for it’s medicinal properties [link included below]. Another refers to it as “ornamental”. Can anyone verify this information or clarify which medicinal properties will be lacking?

Symphytum officinale “alba” and white comfrey (Symphytum orientale) are two different species.
Symphytum officinale “alba” is just a color variant of regular comfrey and should have similar properties.
That said, I’d stick with regular old comfrey to be assured of genetically undiluted medicinal benefits.
Don't use herbs or combine herbs with medications or use them during lactation or pregnancy without talking with your healthcare provider.
