StudentTopic AuthorGreg! You are amazing, I just downloaded your flashcards and the spreadsheet you made with the herbs – holy cow that must have taken you FOREVER to make it! We are about to make some tinctures for our families and I’m feeling super overwhelmed about which of Docs formulas to make (ie. which cold/flu formula or should we make several depending on if they have a cold vs flu vs covid vs. cough vs runny nose lol see my problem?!) anyway, your spreadsheet has come in handy to chill me out a little lol.
BUT I’m now concerned about which ones are safe for kids… maybe one day you’ll tackle that on your spreadsheet hahaha! Anyway thank you SOOOO much for letting everyone copy it, you’re so kind & generous to do that!

StudentOh thank you so much! I just kept working on it as I continued studying, so it didn’t feel like it took me a lot. I don’t think I’ve made any of Doc’s formulas 1:1 as I only have made tinctures with things I have grown or wildcrafted myself. The formulas are a great place to start, but don’t hesitate to make something if you don’t have one ingredient. Once you learn what the different herbs do, you can substitute what you have and get a similar result. In fact, I haven’t made any formulas at all really, I just tincture things individually and when I have something I want to treat, I just take herbs that give me the benefits that I want.
As far as what is safe or unsafe for kids, it depends entirely upon age and size. I’ve got a 1 year old and the most I have given him is some sips of chamomile tea. We have some herbal tallow balms that I have no problem using on him externally though to clear up things like cuts and diaper rash.

StudentThank you very much for doing the flashcards, they were easy to print out.
However, how can I print the spreadsheet? It is very wide. I am also Not that technical so any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you for doing all this work.

StudentThe spreadsheet was not intended to be printed out, but rather for people to make their own copies and add to. I don’t think you could print it out in a reasonable way
