A blood clot in the leg, also known as deep vein thrombosis (DVT), is a potentially life-threatening condition, and should at least receive consultation by a qualified physician.  Most doctors, upon diagnosis of DVT, will prescribe blood thinners to remove the clot and prevent the formation of subsequent clots.

Did you manage to get rid of the blood clot? I have just been diagnosed with DVT and am scared… I’m in Mexico, I know the treatments are really good but I’ll have to pay out of pocket. My leg is pretty bad. Seeing a specialist next Friday but I’m wondering if I should be taking anything other than the pharmaceuticals until then. I felt better when I was taking my Yarrow Tincture and Mullein tea.

          Hello,

According to Doctor Jones (on the definition presentation), he stated that Yarrow is an <span style=”font-weight: 400;”>Antihemorrhagic which makes blood stop. </span>

You should avoid dark leafy greens, like spinach, for now, as the rich vitamin K content will contribute to stimulating clotting factor.  Yarrow is a vasoconstrictor.  You might want to lay off that one too, until you’ve talked with a qualified physician.

Yarrow is helpful for stopping bleeding (and a dozen other things). It isn’t an appropriate choice for removing blood clots.

Michele is correct. Blood clots (deep vein thromboses) aren’t something to experiment with with herbs. Let the MDs take care of that one.
