StudentHello, I’m having issues printing the PDF. I like to have a paper copy for taking notes, yes I am old fashion and realize I better invest in three ring binders and printing supplies. But I like having a physical copy to take notes on, I learn better that way. I have tried everything I can think of with my printer and nothing has worked. I have printed several of the PDF’s so far and had no issues at all. However, after waiting for the new lesson material for the Cardiovascular II lesson, It has malfunctioned on me more than once when I have printed it. Wasted a LOT of ink, being it ends up printing with distortion, lines and what looks to be Arabic lettering… very strange. I did hold on to the pages and can scan a couple and send them to you so you can see what it is doing if needed. If I need to change browsers or something then so be it. But like I said, I have printed several other PDF’s on from this same browser and have never had an issue, until this particular Module. Thank you in advance for any advice on this issue it is very much appreciated. 🙂

Thanks for reporting, you get extra brownie points today!<br><br>Important Note: If you are using the Brave Browser or one of the other “Privacy-Focus-Chrome-Reskin” Browsers (that are in my opinion borderline malware, running cryptocurrency garbage in the background, and are extremely resource intensive and run by for-profit corporations which somehow definitely don’t make money off your data…)
PLEASE reconsider.
These browsers block the core tech of websites that have user-based content and are not and will never be compatible by default. If you’re going to use it, you’ll need to learn, understand, and configure the settings for it on your own as that is outside the scope of our support.
If you are interested in a privacy based browsing experience, I recommend Firefox which is NOT built on the same tech controlled by google (that Brave and all the others are).
Thank You 🙂 <br>

Homestead InstructorHi There!
Does the print preview show the messed up lettering and issues?
When you choose “Print to PDF” and open the file does it show the local file with those same issues?
If you use Firefox instead of Brave do you see the issue?
Let me know 🙂

StudentTopic AuthorThank you for your response. I did switch browsers to Libre. However when I did look at the preview there were no indications of the “gibberish” it printed. It was almost like the file corrupted at some point in the printing process. I will attempt to print the the next module I am going to work on and we will see if anything changes being I got rid of Brave and now am using Libre. Fingers crossed this works.
Enjoy the Journey!!

StudentTopic AuthorWell, that didn’t work. Now the entire document is just lines when it goes to the print preview. Do I need to download Libre Office to get this document to properly download? I don’t want to print 53 pages with the chance it may or may not print from the PDF file I saved yesterday prior to dumping Brave. Thank you again for your help with this matter. 🙂
Enjoy the Journey!!

HGH I.T.
Homestead InstructorHi there!
You shouldn’t need to download anything else, PDF’s are able to open and print by defaults with any web browser.
It sounds like you have some other conflict with your system causing the file to break during the printing process.
Are you currently using librewolf as your browser after swapping away from brave?
When you download the PDF and open it what program opens that allows you to print?
Are you on a Mac or a PC?
Do you have an alternative computer or printer you can try to narrow down the issue?
