Wondering if the leaves are as good as the berries, or maybe even better like with elder?  In the formulas of Doc’s – when it says x part Hawthorn, would that be leaves, berries, or a mix?  Thanks!

Doc has said he normally just uses the leaves because the birds always get the berries before he does! I would just grab both and use the leaves for the powders and what not. My wife and I grabbed a bunch of the berries and made a syrup with them and used it on our pancakes, it was good!

I don’t have that many birds and those that I have around don’t seem to care for the berries!  So thanks – I have a mix of leaves and berries.

Although folks use berries, leaves, and flowers, seems like what I have learned is that the leaves and flowers are actually better than the berries or maybe that’s what was used in a lot of the medicinal studies.
