Here in northwest GA we have loblolly pine (Pinus taeda). Is that a good pine to make tinctures and teas with? I have heard before that ponderosa pine was not good to take and white pine was the best. Is any of this true? Are all pines ok to take?

In southern Utah, I use Pinyon Pine and avoid the Ponderosa.  No Loblolly pines here, sorry!

Here’s a thread worth reading: https://homesteadacademy.com/forums/topic/pine-needles-tree-leaves/ . Read all the way through – ponderosa is fine, which is a relief to me because that’s what I have the most access to.

I”d guess it’s similar to other Pinus species but I haven’t used Pinus taeda and there isn’t much research on it.

              Pine (Pinus spp.)
