I am making a tincture from the AZMA formula (a powder purchased from Homegrown Herbalist). Since it is for a cat, and I am not hopeful about him taking a straight alcohol tincture I used 2 parts vodka and 3 parts glycerin. I know the glycerin is much thicker than the alcohol, but the herbs seemed to suck up all the moisture. The powder is pasty, like a thick brownie batter. If I added 2 more parts vodka and 3Â more glycerin would my dosing be twice the otherwise recommended amount? I’m wondering if straight vodka would have been all that much looser. It seem very dry with 2 parts vodka, and it doesn’t seem that doubling that would make it as liquid-y as I expected. Any advice to salvage my tincture is appreciated. My kitty has asthma and I want to wean him off the steroids.
